S.O.P.H.I.E. Pet Cemetary in Los Angeles

Los Angeles Pet Cemetary Everyone who has an older pet knows that eventually they will outlive their pet. While this is a very sad time, the Los Angeles Pet Cemetary provides your loved ones with many options so that you can keep their memory alive. The cemetary is located in Calabasas, California and has a very intersting history. The park was founded and dedicated on September 4, 1928 by the Rollins and Eugene family. In 1973, the family graciously donated the cemetery to the Los Angeles SPCA. The SPCA was going to sell the property to developers but luckily a small group of pet owners learned of this and established S.O.P.H.I.E., Inc. (”Save Our Pets’ History in Eternity”), a non-profit public benefit corporation dedicated to the preservation of this beautiful sanctuary. S.O.P.H.I.E. now runs the facility through memberships, services, and donations.
